Carol went to the hospital with and infection and weakness and found herself unable to walk. She was faced with a decision to discharge home or discharge to a post-hospital rehabilitation center.
“I knew I needed to become stronger and regain my independence before going home,” Carol said. “I chose MedBridge at Heartland of Willoughby in Ohio for therapy and nursing care.”
Staff at Heartland got to know Carol and her goals and provided her with the firm encouragement she needed to achieve her independence quickly.
“Therapy was very intense,” Carol said. “My physical therapist was constantly trying new things to help me regain the strength and function in my legs. The therapy staff truly cared about me and always encouraged me to push myself when I was tired and to work hard to get stronger. I was able to reach my goals and regain my ability to walk. I couldn’t wait to get home and take my dog for a walk!”
The therapists at Heartland saw Carol’s potential and gave her the right amount of gentle and firm encouragement, reminding her constantly of what she was working towards. Because of the therapy Carol received, she was able to return home happy and healthy and independently take her dog for a nice long trip around the neighborhood.
