"When I began retaining fluid, becoming tired from walking very short distances and not being able to think clearly, I knew something was wrong and I contacted my doctor right away. My doctor ran a few tests and found that I and an atrial insufficiency and congestive heart failure. I ended up needing an atrial valve replacement and was hospitalized for six days.
I was too weak to go home after being in bed for almost a week, so I chose to go to MedBridge at Heartland at ProMedica for rehabilitation. The amount of attention I received from the entire staff, from the doctor and nurse practitioner, to the nurses and aides, to the therapists, and even the dietary staff, was impeccable. They all worked cohesively with my cardiologist to make sure I was strong and healthy enough to go home safely. I felt so confident and well prepared to return back to my day-to-day routine! The rapport between the patients and staff is amazing. That is what this experience is all about - the people. I would recommend Heartland at ProMedica to anyone in need of short-term rehab - it's hands down the best in town!
They have it all at Heartland at ProMedica; the people, the experience, the knowledge and the comfort of home!" - Peggy
