Words of Appreciation

ManorCare Health Services Venice

Every day, our centers and hospice and home care agencies receive thanks for the care they have provided to a patient or someone’s loved one.  Many say they don't have the words to describe their appreciation and simply say "Thanks."  Below are comments from a patient at ManorCare Health Services in Venice, Florida in appreciation of the care provided to her.

This is Rose.  I was a patient at ManorCare.  The reason I’m calling is because I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated all the wonderful care I received.  I found all of your staff to be very caring and many of them went out of their way to make sure all of my needs were met.

There are quite a few people I really would like to compliment.  I can’t say enough about Jeff who was so kind in seeing that my special vegetarian needs were met, and Ellen, the nutritionist, who worked out a plan to make sure I was getting enough protein to help heal my broken bone.  Nurse Tangi helped me through some of my worst days and evenings, and she was always so kind.  CNA Marie who took the brunt of one of my meltdowns but remained caring and professional and always willing to help.  You have a wonderful staff.

My physical therapist Jerry who got me moving again and made it fun, and all of the physical therapy crew.  My occupational therapist Sue who worked so hard to help me get my range of motion back and made me feel so special while she was doing it, and all of the occupational therapy crew.  My night CNA Ollie who is such a special caring person and was so cheerful even in the middle of the night, and Martin my night RN who when he had time, spent time getting to know me.

All the administration department, especially Heather, who worked so hard to make sure I was comfortable in my room, and Sue, the social worker, who helped me understand the ins and outs of insurance and saw to it that I got what I needed to move to the next level of my care.  KC, the activities director, who was always so pleasant.  And last but definitely not least, Maria, the receptionist, who greets everyone that comes into ManorCare with such genuine caring and concern that you feel so welcomed as soon as you step through the doors and makes sure you want to return as you’re leaving.  What a special person she is.

Even though I have left as a resident, I’m glad to be back for outpatient therapy, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend ManorCare to anyone who needs loving quality care to get back on the road to recovery.  Thank you so much.
